Honorable Prime Minister of India dedicates Integrated Refinery Expansion Complex of Kochi Refinery to the Nation

On 27 January 2019, team BPCL at Kochi Refinery witnessed the dedication of Bharat Petroleum’s Integrated Refinery Expansion Complex by Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The event had the distinguished presence of the Governor of Kerala-Justice P Sathasivam, Chief Minister of Kerala- Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship- Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Tourism- Shri Alphons Kannanthanam, Members of Parliament- Prof. K V Thomas and Prof. Richard Hay and Member of Legislative Assembly- Shri VP Sajeendran.

The foundation stone of Bharat Petroleum’s Petrochemical Complex at KR and the Skill Development Institute at Ettumanoor were also laid on this historic day.

Hon Prime Minister was given a bird’s eye view of the transformational project that has made Kochi Refinery the largest PSU Refinery in India in his detailed presentation by our C&MD, Shri D Rajkumar.

Hon Prime Minister appreciated the transformative contributions by BPCL and Kochi Refinery to the country and also recognized the tireless efforts by our staff and engineers to keep the refinery operational during last year’s floods in Kerala.
