Ujjwala scheme: 3 crore beneficiaries reached

Honorable Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship-Shri Dharmendra Pradhan announced that 3 crore new LPG connections have been given by Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies- IOC, BPC and HPC- under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yogna(PMUY) in a record time of 16 months, thereby improving the standard of living of BPL families. LPG penetration has increased from 56% in 2014(14 crore) to 76% in 2017(21.5 crore) The state of Uttar Pradesh contributed a major chunk, where 62 lakh new connections were distributed.
