BPCL CVO inaugurates Vendors’ Meet at Kochi Refinery

"Governance is simplified, when all stakeholders are better informed of the systems and processes," said Mr. Sunil Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer, BPCL, while inaugurating the Vendors Meet at Kochi Refinery on 12 November 2019. Emphasizing the measures being taken for corporate governance like the Integrity Pact, and complaint redressal mechanisms like IEM, as part of the tendering process, the CVO was of the view that, we can be truly justified when we adopt Integrity as a Way of Life and a way of doing business."

"I am happy that this annual gathering is serving as a platform for vendors and contractors to open up and interact with the company and fellow associates. I urge you to share your suggestions for improving and upholding Governance," he expressed.

Mr. Prasad K Panicker, Executive Director in Charge (Kochi Refinery) presided over the meeting and shared about our commitment to sustaining ourselves as an Efficient, Competitive and Ethical organization. Mr. Suresh John, CGM (Projects) gave an overview of the various Projects at Kochi Refinery.

Earlier, Mr. S Sriram, General Manager (Project Procurement) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Ramakrishnan, Head, Business Process Excellence Center (BPEC), Mumbai, provided guidance on payment related queries raised by the participants. Ms. Anjoo John and Mr. P H S Mani, Chief Managers (Projects) also spoke.

Representatives from M/s Petrofac International (UAE) LLC and Fluor Daniel India Pvt Ltd presented an overview of their organization structure and the global standards of maintaining ethics. They also shared the measures adopted by them for prevention of corruption and upholding Governance. Subsequently at the open forum the Refinery panel addressed queries from vendors and contractors.

Each year the Vendors' Meet, is a listed event as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) Activities in Kochi Refinery. The Meet was anchored by the Project Procurement Department in association with the Vigilance Team. This year Retail, LPG and Lubricants BUs from Kerala participated in the VAW Mela that was organized at the BPCL Learning Centre, Kochi, the venue of Vendors Meet, 2019.
