MOU with Chhattisgarh State Government

07 May 2016 | BPCL

An MOU was inked between the Govt. Of Chhattisgarh and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, for construction of their 44TMT LPG Bottling Plant at Village Khapri, Tehsil Tilda, District Raipur in the presence of Hon Petroleum Minister, Shri  Dharmendra  Pradhan, on 07 May 2016.

The plant slated to be commissioned by Sept 2017, is coming up on a 25.5 acre plot provided by CSIDC in Village Khapri.  The commissioning of this plant would go a long way in meeting the constantly burgeoning LPG demand of the state. Moreover it would lead to the development of the village community in and around the periphery of the plant creating indirect employment opportunities. The Hon CM has assured all assistance to BPCL in clearing whatever technical hurdles in the way of expeditious commissioning.

Approximately 35 lakh households are yet to come in the LPG fold . LPG,is a clean, environment friendly, safe, cooking fuel. It  creates least green house gas emissions. Regular usage as cooking gas,  would lead to reduced cases of TB, and other heart and lung related ailments, detected mainly in women,  caused on account of fumes emanating from burning of wood, cow dung, etc as  cooking fuel.

With the Hon PM launching the “UJJWALA”,  free LPG connection scheme recently, the state can boast of augmented bottling facilities which would easily cater to the entire demand of the state for the coming three years and further. Incidentally the other two oil companies -HPC and IOC  are already having their own plants in Mahasamund & Raipur district respectively.
