BPCL and Akasa Air Power Commercial Flight with SAF-Blended Aviation Fuel

BPCL and Akasa Air have successfully operated flight QP1105 from Mumbai to Goa with Aviation Turbine Fuel blended with 1% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Building on their July 2026 MoU, BPCL Director (Marketing) Shri Subhankar Sen highlighted the role of sustainable, indigenous energy in driving energy security, while BPCL Business Head (Aviation) Shri Sanjeev Kumar underscored the company's SAF production readiness across its Mumbai, Bina, and Kochi refineries. Akasa Air CFO Ankur Goel noted that the BPCL - Akasa Air partnership strengthens operational preparedness and accelerates wider SAF adoption in Indian aviation.
