NeuEN Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., the 50:50 joint venture between BPCL and Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, has secured a 10,000 tonnes per annum (10 KTPA) green hydrogen supply contract from Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (NRL), marking a key milestone in India’s clean energy transition and the commercial scaling of green hydrogen. The project will set up a green hydrogen production facility at NRL’s refinery in Assam, backed by a 25‑year agreement and expected to commence operations in 2028.
With a competitively discovered tariff of ₹279 (US$3.08) per kg, the project sets a new benchmark for commercially contracted green hydrogen pricing. Powered by hybrid renewable energy and advanced storage, the facility is designed for reliable round‑the‑clock operations, enhancing Northeast India’s contribution to national energy security.
