SWACHHTA PAKHWADA 1ST - 15TH JULY 2020
Swachhta pakhwada 2020 activities of Kochi Refinery began on 1st July 2020, keeping in view the guidelines and protocol of COVID- 19 pandemic. PR & Admin section has conducted a cleanliness drive on 6th July and around 10 employees participated the drive.
Swachhta Pledge was taken by all DSM/DSW working at BPCL Retail Outlet in Ahmednagar Maharashtra. All were happy to be part of this nationwide drive of cleanliness and assured of committed efforts, pledge was followed by cleanliness activity in and around RO premise.
Swachhta Pledge was taken by security guards, total 33 nos of security gaurds were present during pledge. Senior officials of HSSE Uran Terminal explained the importance of hygiene in our day to day life and Govt plan about Swachhta Abhiyan.
Under Swachhta fortnight cloth bags were distributed to customers. Dealer's were very much involved in the activity along with DSMs. Customers were very happy for this wonderful initiative carried out by BPCL.
To spread the awareness of Swachhta, the DSMs at retail outlets in Bolangir took the initiative of distribution of sapling of various medicinal plants to the fueling customers. The initiative was appreciated by various customers of the locality.
We have conducted a Slogan Competition "Suraksha Sujhav Pratiyogita" for security guards and lorry drivers.The winners were awarded with exciting prizes.
Online quiz competition was conducted by HRS East. The quiz was open for all the staff from Eastern Region Offices.
Slogan competition was organized at Retail outlet in Jhansi, UP for celebrating Swachhta Pakhwada 2020.
Construction of a toilet block and hand washing facilities for Government High School was completed and handed over.
Ensuring better hygiene at our retail outlet in Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu was done by sanitizing the entire Retail Outlet as well as customer's vehicles. It ensures the safety of our customers during this Pandemic.
Management of waste disposal at retail outlet in Coimbatore was done by providing separate dustbins for wet waste and dry waste.This accelerates the efforts to achieve ease in solid and liquid waste disposal & management.
Installation of Hygiene systems was done by LPG dealer in Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
As a part of Swacchta Initiative, Warangal Depot has observed Swachhta Pakhwada - 2020. Distribution of 90 Swachhta Kit (Mask, Sanitizer, Dettol Soap etc.) to Contract workmen, Security Personnel, Vendors. All the Contract workmen, Security personnel & Vendors have participated (90 members) in the programme. This programme was organized in line with the Covid-19 prevention guidelines as prescribed by State Government.
Swachhta Pakhwada has been under taken at our Retail outlet in Thanjapur, Tamil Nadu. DSMs, managers and other staffs participated in the event. Created awareness about cleanliness of RO and its surroundings. Tree Plantation Campaign was also carried out at the outlet.
We have conducted online contest for encouraging PCVO to post photographs wearing masks / turban around their face after downloading Aarogya Setu Application for themselves and their family members.
At the end of the day, a few selected tanl lorry drivers were awarded by Depot Authorities.
All security guards were encouraged to wear mask and download Aarogya Setu App on their mobile phones along with their family members. Photographs were shared by all security guards along with their family members after wearing mask and downloading the app. In this contest best photographs were selected and prizes were distributed to winners.
As part of the Swachhta Pakhwada, Kochi Refinery is conducting online competitions for children to bring about awarenesss on the subject. In this connection, entries for Online competitions for children were invited. Two competitions, viz. online story telling and online elocution competitions are planned for students studying in classes 5th - 12th. The theme for the competitions are based on Swachhta. Notices for the same was put up in the notice boards and broadcast in the digital platforms.
Housekeeping drive was done in Lab Premises inside Mumbai Refinery where all material, tools, raw material has been segregated and stacked properly as part of Swachhta Pakhwada.
The area in and around BPCL Eastern Region office was cleaned during the Swachhta Pakhwada July 2020. The Garden & footpath area was cleaned by maintaining the social distancing.
We distributed the jute bags among the workmen. The jute bags contained one hand sanitizer, one Dettol soap, one toothpaste, one toothbrush, one pair of hand gloves, one mask each. We distributed the items among 25 workmen.
Bharat Petroleum distributed five Bandicoot Robots to Coimbatore Municipal Corporation to replace Manual Scavenging, in presence of Shri Shravan Kumar, Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner and Shri Jayesh Shah, Executive Director (HRS), who joined remotely from Mumbai and other senior officials from Coimbatore Municipal Corporation and BPCL.
Bandicoot, a robotic scavenger, was developed by Genrobotic Innovations, who were provided grants, mentor support and specific technical assistance by BPCL under Project Ankur, to improve the working conditions of conservancy workers.
ASHA or Accredited Social Health Activist, are the first port of call for health related demand by the rural population. During the SwachhtaPakhwada, our Project Team in Gulbarga in Karnataka, where we are developing a new oil depot, distributed personal protection kits, with Face Masks, Hand Sanitizer, Face Shield, etc, to these front-line CoronaWarriors, as a token of our gratitude for their services.

In collaboration with UNICEF, our Team in Varanasi, have trained women in the nearby fifty villages to spread awareness on personal hygiene and cleanliness of surroundings, as part of SwachhataPakhwada2020 campaign, especially as country is battling Corona Virus.
Dharwad LPG plant organised a drawing competition for students of internal and external stakeholders on the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada 2020.
A specially designed ‘Selfie Booth’ was put up at Dharwad LPG plant to spread awareness about cleanliness and COVID-19.

Special `Mann Ki Swachhta’ webinar was organized by HRS North of Guru Shri Swami Sukhabodhanan ji for the benefit of all the staff across BPCL. Swamiji spoke in detail regarding how to keep oneself happy and contended in the current pandemic situation and how to follow a healthy & clean daily lifestyle.
Swachta pledge was taken by all the Staff of Retail & Lubes Territories of Nellore.
HRS West alongwith Helping Hands Welfare Society, conducted awareness talk on womens health & importance of menstrual hygiene in Thane. 50 sanitary packets were distributed to the participants.
Tree plantation drive was carried at Visakhapatnam Installation as a part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2020. Trees were planted in the green belt development area inside the installation premises. Officers, staff, TL crew, security, contract workmen enthusiastically participated in the activity.
Cleaning drive was undertaken in CCR plant, Mumbai Refinery in view of Sawachhata Pakhwada 2020.
Cleanliness drive was undertaken at Trivandrum Aviation Fuelling Station.
Sanitization of the company owned company operated outlet, BP Mankahani, Balasore, Odisha, including pedestals, toilet, sales room, forecourt area, parking area. This brings a sense of safety among all the members present who work at the outlet.
Our Shahajahanpur POL Depot conducted a health talk for our PCVO crew members . The necessity of maintaining cleanliness at home, in tank lorries and in depot premises was emphasized to the participants.
Kochi LPG Bottling Plant conducted a training program for complete ban of single use plastic inside the campus. While Security staff were sensitized on restricting single use plastic inside the campus, company staff, contract staff and PCVO crew were sensitized on the implications of single use plastic.
Our Chairman and Managing Director, Mr D Rajkumar, launches Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 by administering Swachhta Pledge to employees through virtual mode.
Swachhta Pakhwada has been earmarked by MoPNG during 1st to 15th July, 2020. Due to ongoing global pandemic of COVID-19 it is suggested that the activities to be undertaken digitally/online. We at BPCL are innovative and believe in energizing lives.
BPCL participated in Swachhta Pakhwada in July 2019 with an exceptional performance by Regional HRS, Refineries, Retail and LPG business units across the country.
We have set the benchmark when we carried out more than 50,000 activities in 15 days. This mammoth task was achieved collectively, with the help of each and every member of the BPCL family. BPCL was recognised and was awarded the First Prize for Swachhta Pakhwada 2019 by MoPNG. Mumbai Refinery and Bina Refinery (BORL) were awarded 1st and 3rd place respectively with the cleanest Refinery award 2019.
This plastic Raavana was placed at one of our Retail Outlets in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Customers stopped to take selfies with the installation- which figuratively represents the Raavana in our lives today
Around 6 lakh cylinders were distributed with the message, “Let us make the dream of clean India a reality” in Hindi and English, reaching out to both distributors and end-customers alike.
As torch-bearers we will continue to strive to be the best; therefore, we have to move beyond symbolism and go to the next level in the implementation of Swachhta Pakhwada.
