BPCL Kochi Refinery has been conferred the KMA Excellence Award for Manufacturing Innovation by the Kerala Management Association (KMA) for its innovative PFCCU process modification initiative.

The first-of-its-kind innovation has significantly improved operational efficiency, delivered annual savings of approximately ₹32 crore, enhanced energy efficiency, and reduced nearly 29,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

This recognition reflects BPCL Kochi Refinery’s continued focus on innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

BPCL Renewable Energy Business Unit has been conferred with the Gold Award in the “Renewable Energy Integration Category” at the Greentech Energy Management Excellence Summit & Awards 2026 held at Radisson Blu, New Delhi. The recognition reflects BPCL’s strategic focus on accelerating renewable energy adoption and building a future-ready energy ecosystem aligned with India’s sustainability aspirations. BPCL’s renewable energy initiatives continue to support the company’s vision of achieving Net Zero emissions (Scope 1 & Scope 2) by 2040, while progressing towards the development of a 10 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2035.

As India advances towards its Panchamrit commitments and Net Zero target by 2070, BPCL remains committed to driving responsible growth through innovation, cleaner energy solutions, and sustainable transformation.

BPCL Kochi Refinery has been honoured with the prestigious IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (IMC RBNQA) in the Performance Excellence Category, reaffirming its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and safety. Representing Kochi Refinery, Shri Vishwas Khobragade (CGM – Technology), Shri Avinash Sankpal (Chief Manager – Maintenance), and Shri Neelabh Upadhyay (Manager – Manufacturing) received the award from legendary cricketer Shri Sunil Gavaskar, in the presence of Ms. Sunitha A. Ramnathkar, President, IMC and Shri Niraj Bajaj, Chairman, IMC RBNQA Trust, at the award ceremony held in Mumbai.

The recognition highlights Kochi Refinery’s strong systems-driven approach, leadership in cleaner fuels and energy conservation, enterprise-wide digital transformation, and exceptional safety performance of over 92 million accident-free man hours. The Refinery’s efforts in advancing Net Zero initiatives and introducing innovative petrochemical products as import substitutes were also recognised during the rigorous evaluation process.

This achievement reflects the collective dedication of the Kochi Refinery team in continuously raising benchmarks in quality, reliability, and performance excellence.

BPCL’s Corporate R&D Centre (CRDC) has been honoured with the prestigious ASSOCHAM Award at the India Infrastructure Conference & Achievers Awards 2026 for its innovative Waste Plastic-based Geocell Network for Road Pavements, developed in collaboration with the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI). The solution transforms end-of-life plastic waste into a sustainable road infrastructure application that enhances pavement durability and reduces maintenance costs, with successful pilot projects already validated in the Delhi-NCR region. The award was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari and received on behalf of BPCL by Dr. Chiranjeevi Thota, GM (R&D), and Dr. Mahesh Kasture, CM (R&D), reaffirming BPCL’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and nation-building.
