BPCL bags Aaj Tak Care Award for CSR

BPCL has won the Aaj Tak Care Awards for CSR under the Livelihood Category during the Award Ceremony held on 6th June, 2012 at Hotel Taj Palace, Delhi. The award was presented by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Union Finance Minister, GOI and Mr. Aroon Purie, Editor in Chief, India Today to Mr. S. P. Gathoo, Director (HR) along with Mr. S. S. Desai, DGM (Admin) who received the award on behalf of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. There was a 3 stage selection process which was carried out independently by experts and the Jury Team was headed by Mr. Gurcharan Das, Author and Management consultant.

BPCL was  awarded for the  CSR project ‘Economic Empowerment and Income Generation’ under the Livelihood Category, which has so far touched and impacted 600 rural women in Lucknow near BPCL LPG Bottling Plant. NGO partners were SEWA , Lucknow for project. This CSR initiative has helped the rural women to earn  their livelihood and has gifted them with the skill of Chikankari artwork
