Bunkering

BPCL has focused on bunkering as an emerging sector for the fuel oil business and has been developing Infrastructures at all major port locations. With over 90% of world trade being carried by the international shipping industry, sea-borne trade continues to expand, bringing benefits for consumers across the world through competitive freight costs. Thanks to the growing efficiency of shipping as a mode of transport and increased economic liberalization, the prospects for the bunker industry's further growth continue to be strong.

BPCL Bunkering efforts have come a long way in the International Bunkering market. The initiative that began in Mumbai Port in 2009 has flourished and extended to JNPT & Kochi, earning us enriching exposure to international markets. Further steps are being taken to commence Bunkering operations at Goa, Chennai, Haldia, Kandla and Kakinada.

Because of such continuous efforts, we were able to get government support through VAT reduction in the states of Goa, Kerala and Mumbai, enabling us to sell bunker fuel and bunker oil products at internationally competent prices.
