Bharatgas Lite is BPCL’s advanced LPG cylinder made using the composite material instead of conventional mild steel. Launched on January 28, 2026, at the India Energy Week in Goa. Bharatgas Lite is over 50% lighter than a traditional steel cylinder, making it much easier to lift, move and install — especially in homes where convenience matters just as performance.

The tagline says it best: Naye Bharat Ka Naya Cylinder, which translates to a new cylinder for a new India. One that means less strain, easier kitchen management and a much more comfortable everyday experience.

What makes Bharatgas Lite Different

• Lighter to Handle : Bharatgas Lite is over 50% lighter than conventional steel cylinders. For elderly family members, people with smaller homes, or anyone who has difficulty managing it, this changes the everyday experience considerably.
• Check gas levels instantly : The cylinder's body is translucent. With Bharatgas Lite, no more guessing, no more panic-booking at the last minute, and no more mid-cooking surprises. A quick glance tells you exactly where you stand.

Who can get Bharatgas Lite?

The good news is that Bharatgas Lite is not limited to just first-time users.

It is available for:

• Customers applying for a new Bharatgas connection
• Also, Existing Bharatgas customers can upgrade from a steel cylinder to Bharatgas Lite

For new domestic customers, the registration and documentation process remains similar to a regular LPG connection with a security deposit of ₹2,500.

BPCL has also introduced a cylinder swapping option for existing eligible customers, which is for making the shift to the existing Bharatgas customers can exchange their conventional cylinders by paying an incremental security deposit of ₹300 per cylinder, helping with immediate replacement. Currently, Bharatgas Lite is a non-subsidized product.
