NURTURING YOUNG MINDS
Badminton Summer Camp – Trombay Club, Chembur
At BPCL’s Trombay Club, HRS Mumbai organized a Summer Badminton
Camp for children of employees as part of its FPL 3.0 initiative. The camp
provided an exciting training environment for participants aged 8 to
18, focused on learning and movement under the guidance of certified
coaches.
Inaugurated by Shri Mahendra Kumar K CGM (HR), Mumbai Refinery, in the
presence of Shri Deepak Jain CGM Sports (HRS, CO), the camp saw lively
participation and a strong display of enthusiasm throughout.
The closing day was marked by a motivational session by Shri Naizu GM
(HSSE), who spoke to the children about fitness, healthy eating, and the
value of staying active. Activities were smoothly coordinated by Mr Jaideep
Pansare SM (Training & Development), MR.
The camp emphasized agility and game awareness, encouraging children
to think strategically even at beginner levels. The camp reflected BPCL’s
vision of nurturing young minds through sport, while reinforcing lifelong
habits of wellness and discipline.
NURTURING YOUNG BLOOD
Online Chess Summer Camp for Children
BPCL’s Sports team (HRS) organized an 8-day Online Chess Summer
Camp from June 18 to 25, 2025, for children aged 8 to 17 years,
drawing over 200 participants from across India. Inaugurated by Shri
Deepak Jain, CGM (Sports), the sessions were conducted by BPCL’s
grandmasters G.N. Gopal and M.R. Venkatesh, who brought the game
to life with engaging tutorials, interactive analysis, and live practice
games on the Lichess platform.
Parents appreciated the blend of learning and engagement, with many
children showing visible improvement in logical thinking and focus.
IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Basketball & Badminton Camp – Anna Nagar, Chennai
From May 1 to 21, 2025, BPCL’s Anna Nagar Colony in Chennai hosted a spirited
Summer Sports Camp for children of employees, combining basketball and
badminton into one immersive, energetic experience.
The basketball sessions, held from May 1 to 15, focused on ball control, dribbling,
shooting techniques, and group drills that nurtured coordination and self-
confidence. Meanwhile, the badminton camp, conducted from May 5 to 21,
sharpened participants’ agility, footwork, and precision under expert guidance.
Led by professional coaches, both camps witnessed active participation and
joyful enthusiasm, transforming court time into character-building time.
The program included mini-challenges, team play-offs, and fitness warm-
ups, making each day structured and motivating. Local leadership praised the
initiative as a promising step toward long-term youth development in BPCL
housing colonies.
