Table Tennis Summer Camp – Eastern Regional Office, Kolkata
From June 30 to July 11, 2025, the Eastern Regional Office Recreation Club Hall in Kolkata hosted a spirited Table Tennis
Summer Camp for children of BPCL employees. The initiative aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of
table tennis through professional training and guided practice sessions.
The camp was inaugurated by Olympian and ace table tennis player Mr. Soumyajit Ghosh, whose presence inspired
the young aspirants. Renowned coach Ms. Anuradha Roy, certified with ITTF Level 1 and 2 credentials, led the sessions
with dedication, focusing on essential techniques and game fundamentals. Despite receiving 12 nominations, the
camp saw regular participation from 3, 4 committed children who enthusiastically absorbed the sport’s nuances and
showed significant progress.
Mr. John Bosco, Head (HRS East), extended full support to the organizing team, ensuring smooth coordination throughout.
His encouragement, along with on-ground presence from the organizers, created a nurturing environment for the
children.

While participation numbers were modest, the impact was substantial. The children who attended regularly expressed
keen interest in continuing the sport, laying the groundwork for consistent future engagement. The organizers hope to
scale up participation in the coming year, making the TT camp a more expansive and inclusive event.
